Our fifteen nights wild life tour covers almost half of the peerless  beauties of the isle .The journey begins in Negambo where sunny beach almost tempt travellers to enjoy themselves engaging in any type of water of water sport they desire.Kalpitiya too is famous for its grotesque beach and dolphin watching where you will be amazed among  these friendly little creatures  company.A safari across  the Wilpattu Natural Park will give you the opportunity to explore the nature to the deepest .Not only endangering animals and plants this reservoir is abundant when it comes to unique animals.After  safaring  under the shade of trees our next destination is Sigiriya where apart from Sigiriya rock fortress there is plenty of bird watching and elephant sightings to be done in Minneriya National Park.Hill country our next destination will extends you a unique experience when it comes to wild life while at Kitulgala you can indulge in white water rafting and river expeditions conversing  with the nature in a closer proxcimity.Nuwara Eliya or Little England ranks no 1 when it comes to the nature,for words are not enough to spell out its peerless beauty.Mist covered mountains ,beautiful waterfalls and green forest all will convey you that there is no limit for natures beauty once in the paradise isle.YALA National Park too will offer you an off the page experience when it comes to wild life.It is a paradise of elephants ,leopards ,birds and many more for nature lovers to devour in .Galle the Southern capital of Sri Lanka is famous for its beach that capture the hearts of travelers at first sight.After enjoying yourselves in Galle our final destination is Colombo where a shopping fiasco lies await for you to fill your bags and carry by along with pleasant memories of the paradise isle.  

You will be greeted by a Sri Lankan Footprints representative at the Bandaranayake International Airport and transferred to Negombo where you will check into your hotel. You can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax and unwind, in the evening you can enjoy a stroll through the streets of Negombo and enjoy the many restaurants and bars. Overnight at the hotel.

Today you will visit the Muthurajawela Marsh one of the most bio diverse flora and fauna sanctuaries. It is said to be the islands largest peat bog which has nearly 200 species of flora, over 200 species of fauna and over 100 species of birds. Grab your camera and click away at water birds, endemic and migratory birds, water monitors, lizards, toque macaque monkeys and crocodiles. If you are lucky you may see the endangered Slender Loris. Afterwards you will head to the pristine coast line of Kalpitiya.

Today you will take boat ride in to sea to go Dolphin watching. Set off during sunrise and to see a carpet of dolphins gliding the deep blue waters.  If you’re lucky the Spinner Dolphins might just do an air spin to show off, and maybe spot the Bottle Nosed Dolphin. In the Kalpitiya Bay it is most likely to see a humpbacked Indo-Pacific “Pink Dolphins”.  Head back to your hotel and relax on the beach or indulge in some water sports. Kalpitiya is also a popular destination for Kitesurfing, because the pristine beach has the ideal weather condition that is rare to find. You could also try snorkeling, deep sea fishing, kayaking, canoeing or sailing.

After breakfast you will head towards Wilpattu National Park where you will go on a Wild Life Safari. This is one of the oldest and largest national parks in Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the natural lakes, hence the name Will-pattu (Land of Lakes). Wilpattu is rich with diverse eco system and plenty of flora and fauna. Famed for its growing leopard population it has gained prestige as one of the top national parks in the world. The park boasts  of nearly 30 species of mammals such as elephants, water buffaloes, sloth bear and spotted dear to name a few. Wilpattu is also home to a wide variety of birds, reptiles and butterflies.  After the safari you will proceed to Sigiriya where you will check in to the hotel for yourover night stay.

In the morning you will visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the eighth wonder of the world and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 5th century B.C by King Kashyapa, it displays landscaped gardens, beautiful water gardens, moats and ramparts, twisted steps and stairways and remnants of the Kings palace on top of the rock.

Option : The surrounding area belongs to the Sigiriya Sanctuary which is famous for bird watching. Since it’s adjacent to the Minneriya National Park you may spot elephants migrating from time to time.

Early morning head to Minneriya National Park for a safari to witness “The Gathering”. This is one of the 10 greatest wildlife spectacles in the world ( Lonely Planet) . This elephant gathering is known to be the largest gathering of elephants, counting about 100-700 sightings per gathering.  Reptiles such as Painted Lip Lizard, Salt Water Crocodile, Indian Python and water monitors reside here. Large water birds can be seen fishing in the large Minneriya tank.

Afterwards proceed to Kandy, the capital of the hill country.  On the way you will visit a traditional spice garden in Matale. In the evening enjoy a  viewing of a traditional cultural dance performance. Overnight at your hotel in Kandy.

Today you will visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Sri Lanka’s largest botanical garden which houses over 4000 varieties of plants, flowers, spices, palm trees and medicinal herbs. The park is also bursting with avid wild life with nearly 80 species of birds and butterflies, fruit bats, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. . In the evening enjoy a visit to the Sacred Temple of the Tooth (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

If you wish to explore further in to nature and wild life visit the Udawattakelle Sanctuary located north of the Sacred Tooth Relic Temple. It is sanctuary which has historic, religious and archeological value. This 257 acre forest treasures a large number of birds, animals and butterflies of various species. After lunch leave behind the glory of Kandy and make a start towards Kitulgala. Check into the hotel for yourover night stay.

Kitulgala is situated near the banks of Kelani River where the award winning movie “ Bridge Over River Kwai” was filmed. The Kelani River running alongside the surrounding rain forest area is the base for white water rafting in Sri Lanka. It is an extremely popular destination amongst tourists and locals alike.  This location is ideal for other adventure sports  such as flat water rafting,  river expeditions,  water fall abseiling, rainforest and waterfall trekking, cycling and walking trails and bird watching. You could go bird watching, or rainforest and waterfall trekking today and enjoy the surrounding forest area. Afterwards you could try some white water rafting and some other exciting water sports.

After breakfast at the hotel leave for NuwaraEliya, often referred to as the “Little England” of Sri Lanka. It is the heart of the tea industry which began its journey to produce the green gold of the country after the British influence in the colonial era. You will see many bungalows, houses and hotels with a touch of British taste.  If you have are not too tired and have the time to spare take a stroll in the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. Overnight at your hotel in NuwaraEliya.

Enjoy a trek through the Horton Plains National Park a UNESCO world heritage site. This high altitude plateau is stretched out in grassland with intervals of forests. It is home to sambar, deer the occasional leopard and birds. It is an excellent excursion for nature lovers, hikers and bird watchers.  The most thrilling attraction is the “World’s End” where the earth drops south plummeting into a misty descent of nearly 1000m. The misty view creates and infinite drop, but on a clear day it is a magnificent sight.

 

After breakfast prepare to leave for Yala. You may visit a Tea Factory on your way.  Check in to your campsite in the Yala National Park. The second largest and most visited national park in Sri Lanka is spread out over the Southern &Uva Province. Yala is reputed to have the highest density of leopards within a single area. Consisting of 215 bird species it is one of the 76 Important Bird Areas in Sri Lanka.  Home to a wide variety of wild animals and flora and fauna, it is also an important conservation of Sri Lankan Elephants and aquatic birds. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and overnight at your camp site.

Explore the Yala National park today. You can enjoy a full day jungle safari in the park which will give you ample opportunity to spot the abundant wild life.  Overnight at the camp site.

After breakfast proceed to Galle, the southern capital of Sri Lanka and enjoy a tour of the famous Galle fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Once a famous bustling harbor attracting foreign merchants from around the world, this fortified city celebrates the Portuguese, Dutch and British influences. Now a town emanating old world charm, the beauty of Galle Fort is haunted by its colonial influences.  Dutch colonial villas and buildings, churches, museums, antique shops, lighthouse, boutique hotels and restaurants are some attractions within the fort.  Overnight stay at your hotel in Galle.

After breakfast you may visit Bentota and take a river safari on Madu River. This is the 2nd largest wetland habitat in Sri Lanka and the 3rd site to be declared a “Ramsar Wetland” site. It’s an interesting excursion filled with shady mangroves, islands, cinnamon plantations, ancient temples and fish therapy.  Ideal for bird lovers as it is home to Brahmin Kites, Sea Eagles, Kingfishers, Egrets, Cormorants, and other exotic species. You will also come across water monitors, monkeys, prawns farms, and fishermen along the gentle boat ride. Afterwards proceed to Colombo where you will check into your hotel. Maybe do some shopping and enjoy Colombo nightlife.

Check out from your hotel and transfer to the airport for your return flight.
